This is a simple banana bread with cocoa recipe. Simple but great.

INGREDIENTS FOR THE BREAD

* 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
* 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 3/4 stick butter, room temperature
* 1/2 cup white sugar
* 2 eggs, beaten
* 2 cups mashed overripe bananas (about 5 bananas)

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.

2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, nutmeg, cocoa powder and salt.

3. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended.

4. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture, but do not overmix! Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.

5. Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.

  2. This sounds like a wonderful way to welcome in the fall weather! My husband absolutely loves banana bread. The only thing that I might add is some chocolate chips. That is one thing I like about banana Bread Recipes, they can easily be varied based on personal preferences. I work with Better Recipes so I’ve seen quite a few recipes before but I especially like that this one includes cocoa powder.
